Many people drink black tea for alertness and energy. But black tea is also full of healthy substances called polyphenols which can help to protect cells from DNA damage. In Western culture, generally when people talk about tea, often referring about black tea. Even the popular English Breakfast and Earl Grey blends are made from black tea leaves.
